Following eight weeks of intense renovations, the scaffolding has come down on our building to reveal crossXculture’s fresh new look. Our historic office in Frankfurt Alt-Griesheim was given a modern thermo-insulated facade and a new red paint job, not exactly to match the crossXculture colour scheme but still close enough.
Our historic office in Frankfurt Alt-Griesheim was given a modern thermo-insulated facade and a new red paint job, not exactly to match the crossXculture colour scheme but still close enough. With Europe seeing higher than usual energy prices following Russia’s activities in the Ukraine, the overhaul has come at just the right time to help keep our gas consumption to a minimum this winter.
The Frankfurt township of Alt-Griesheim is located just four S-Bahn minutes from Frankfurt’s central train station and is currently seeing some massive investments to its infrastructure. The old industrial park was closed not long ago and this has made the hugely undervalued area a target of investors and developers. Our building is only one example of the many modernisations in this part of town. More than one hundred years ago, this area was home to many factory workers, and many of the houses were built for poorer families. The basic building material was red brick, as can still be seen on the building facade to the right of ours. Recently, the trend has been to cover this red brick with porous insulation boards.
Frankfurt Alt-Griesheim is located on the bank of the river Main, produces much of its own power with the aid of a hydro-electric dam, and even has a sports boat harbour to allow for a holiday resort atmosphere right in the neighbourhood. While Griesheim had suffered from a negative reputation for many years as a result of some local gang wars, the part of Alt-Griesheim was hardly affected by this and is becoming the next frontier in Frankfurt’s search for untapped investment opportunities. Unfortunately, this means that prices have quadrupled in the last 10 years alone, driving families and local businesses out of the inner city.
For the time being, we are enjoying the scenic view of the river and the new facade in bold and friendly red. With the new insulation in place, we are set to brave the winter without having to increase our prices. This should be good news to our customers throughout Germany who are seeing plenty of price hikes elsewhere. And if you are not a part of the crossXculture community yet, this is the perfect time to benefit from our cost-sensitive approach.
Good news for you
